Hedgehog type tank/traffic barriers
Mobile hedgehog type traffic barriers are primarily used to rapidly secure an access road, block a road and prevent any motorised intruder from getting into a building or area. This is a very efficient traffic barrier system that is easy to assemble in any desired blocking length. It can be installed on any ground to stop cars, SUVs, vans, trucks as well as military vehicles.
A barrier consists of a set of two identical hollow metal parts. The parts are assembled to make up an "X" shape. The parts are combined by sliding one into the other in two perpendicular planes that are also perpendicular to the ground. A fixed connection is attained by passing though mounting rods, which also helps to handle the product during transport. Elastic snap catches secure the rods against sliding out. This option to manually combine the parts into assemblies allows a highly resistant barrier, very difficult to overcome, to be created.

The dimensions were chosen based on comparative studies, and their appropriateness was confirmed by practical tests with a T-55 tank. The barrier height was also determined based on calculations and practical tests to make the barrier difficult to overcome by current tanks on different ground types and during different weather conditions. The load carried by one person does not exceed 50 kg, and hence, the applicable health protection standard is complied with.
